Chandon Vineyards, Yarra Valley, Victoria © Tourism Australia
3 days in the Yarra Valley
Just an hour from Melbourne, the Yarra Valley is the perfect place for lovers of beautiful food, great wine and sprawling nature.
By Natasha Dragun and Leah Dobihal
Day 1: Get back to nature
The Yarra Valley is the gateway to more than 200 hiking and cycling tracks across national parkland, where you might spot wallabies and wombats. It’s also a riot of colour thanks to cool-climate gardens.
Day 2: A day of indulgences
The Yarra Valley is home to more than 80 vineyards, specialising in everything from chardonnay to shiraz. Beyond the wineries, discover fruit farms, chocolate factories and fine dining restaurants.
Day 3: A dose of art and culture
The bucolic scenery of the Dandenong Ranges and Yarra Valley attracts a wide range of creatives, culture fanatics and history buffs.
