1. Rendezvous der Zwergpinguine

All you need is love ❤️🐧 @tobiasvisuals was lucky enough to witness this beautiful moment of two little #penguins standing flipper in flipper, taking in the sparkling lights of @visitmelbourne's skyline. Averaging 30cm tall, these cuties are the smallest species of penguin in the world! You can spot them hanging out at #StKilda pier just after sunset. #seeaustralia #visitmelbourne #visitvictoria #worldpenguinday

2. Dugong-Mama und Junges beim Spielen

Say cheese 🧀 @samlawrencephoto was lucky enough to come across this mumma #dugong and her calf on a chance encounter at #NingalooReef, and it certainly looks like they were more than happy to pose for a photo! It is estimated that 10,000 dugongs live in the waters of #SharkBay in the @australiascoralcoast region of @westernaustralia, representing 10% of the world's remaining population. These beautiful and endangered creatures are an incredible sight to see in the wild, you can try your luck at spotting one on a wildlife cruise with @liveningaloo or @oceanecoadventures. #seeaustralia #justanotherdayinwa #coralcoast #wildlife #nature

3. Öffentliches Zurschaustellen von Wallaby-Zuneigung

Warning - this public display of affection is too cute to handle 😘 @fourwhoexplore’s patience was rewarded by this picture-perfect moment between mother and joey yellow-footed rock wallabies at #BrachinaGorge in @southaustralia’s @flindersrangesandoutback. Thanks to conservation efforts, the Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park is home to a healthy population of these #wallabies, and Brachina Gorge is a hotspot. Tap the save tab if you’d like to take a trip to meet one of these cuties! #seeaustralia #seesouthaustralia #flindersranges

4. Schläfrige Koalas beim Kuscheln

We could watch this snuggle on repeat all day 🐨 🤗 @reneehowell18 is a keeper at @wildlifesydneyzoo, and she always seems to be in the right place at the right time! She captured this beautiful moment when mum Iluka enveloped her joey Ilani in a tender motherly embrace. Ilani’s just recently started to venture out of the pouch, but on chilly winter mornings, prefers to cuddle up to his mumma (and we don’t blame him). Swing by next time you’re in @sydney’s #DarlingHarbour and witness the cuteness for yourself! #seeaustralia #ilovesydney #loveNSW

5. Romantische Kakadus in den Tropen

Tag someone you want to give a virtual hug to ❤️ @medroaming captured these affectionate @hamiltonisland locals whilst exploring the largest of the 74 islands that make up the @whitsundaysqld. With its white beaches, crystal clear waters and an abundance of wildlife, #HamiltonIsland is a great spot to unwind on a future @queenland holiday. #seeaustralia #thisisqueensland #lovewhitsundays #hamiltonisland

6. Valentinsgrüße von einem Quokka

“Will you accept this leaf?” 💚 We hope @cruzysuzy said yes! The #quokkas on @westernaustralia’s @rottnestislandwa are unbe-leaf-ably sweet and friendly to visitors, making them one of the most popular reasons to visit this little island off the coast of @destinationperth. You can either do a day trip from #Perth to see some of the highlights, or stay a few nights on the island at @hotelrottnest, @karmarottnest or the campground, to fully experience all the #wildlife, beaches and food here. #seeaustralia #justanotherdayinwa #rottnestisland #wildlife #travel

7. Küssende Seelöwen

There must be something in the water in @westernaustralia 🥰 @kyle.bowman was left third-wheeling at #CarnacIslandNationalPark when these cheeky critters decided to share a quick smooch for the camera! This picturesque #island is located off the coast of @visitfremantle in #westernaustralia and is home to a colony of rare and playful Australian #sealions, the only type found solely in Australia! If these cheeky locals have got you #dreaming of meeting some of Australia’s friendly marine life, jump aboard a sea lion charter with @charter_1 or @starsandyachtcharters during your next visit! #seeaustralia #thisiswa #wanderoutyonder #CarnacIsland #visitperth

8. Wahre Liebe auf Kangaroo Island

Public displays of affection are the worst 😳@suelie_ captured these @authentickangarooisland locals getting cozy on a recent trip to the island off the coast of @southaustralia. When visiting #KangarooIsland, you're likely to see lots of native Australian animals and birds – the island is sometimes referred to as a "natural zoo". For your best chance at spotting wildlife, jump on board a tour with @KangarooIslandOdysseys. Their expert guides know all the best locations to find native species, so you can just sit back and enjoy the adventure. #SeeAustralia #SeeSouthAustralia #authenticKI #kangaroos #wildlife #travel

9. Kurzkopfgleitbeutler beim Spielen

Solid evidence that #Australia is home to the cutest animals in the world! 😍 Introducing Thumbelina the four-month-old #feathertailglider who is one of the newest #marsupials at the @australianreptilepark on the @visitcentralcoastnsw. These tiny critters are actually the world’s smallest marsupials weighing only 15 grams and despite their size, have the ability to glide up to 25 metres from tree to tree - amazing! The park has reopened to the public so you can get up close and meet the #animals that call this place home!
