In Litchfield National Park, the opportunities for adventure are endless.

Just a short drive from Darwin, Litchfield is one of the Northern Territory's best kept secrets. Whether you splash beneath misty waterfalls, marvel at unusual termite mounds, hop between waterholes or hike the walking trails, you’ll never get bored on a trip to this stunning national park. Camping is the only accommodation available within the park, but other accommodation options are available nearby. With some careful planning, a memorable visit can also be achieved with a day-trip.

The entrance to Litchfield National Park sits just under 90 minutes from Darwin. Self-drive is the most common way to explore the area, and while not required, a 4WD vehicle will allow you to access all routes within the park. If you prefer not to drive, there are day tours from Darwin operating daily.

Darwin International Airport (DRW) is a 90-minute or 105km (66mi) drive from Litchfield National Park; international and domestic arrivals.
Hire cars are available at Darwin Airport. It is recommended to pre-book if you are hiring a 4WD vehicle.

Similar to Darwin, Litchfield National Park experiences two distinct seasons; a dry season (May to October) and a wet season (November to April). The roads may close due to wet weather, so the most popular time to visit is during the dry season when most roads and swimming spots are open.
